Fixing the Stairs
By having to identify the missing piece of the staircase, children practice reciting numbers 1 to 10 correctly. The pictorial version of the stairs helps children practice counting objects, and the numerical version of the stairs helps children practice number recognition.

Pedagogical Info
This game helps children learn how to recite 1 to 10 by asking them to find a missing stair in a set of stairs.
Two versions of the game offer a few different skills to practice. One version has numbers on the stairs, which lets children practice reading written numbers. A version that shows an outline of each step lets children associate the count sequence with increasingly large numbers.
The two variations might not seem that different, but they do target different skills. Don’t be surprised if your child can do one version but not the other at first.
